The Farm with Mimi and Dew Dad

Mimi and Dew Dad took Elcee and Abee to a Dairy Farm. Instead of a sand box... they had a corn box. Dangerous with a capital D for Abee. She only lasted a few minutes in there. She probably could have eaten the whole box of sand for all the things that she puts in her mouth.

Side Note: I had misplaced my pearl earrings and could not find them anywhere. I really thought they were gone...well Abee found them for me, as I had to fish the earring out of her mouth. Oh how she keeps us on our toes!!

Elcee got to go on several rides. She also got to go down on a barn slide. A big slide that comes out of the barn. Dew Dad went down with her on the slide....the slide was really fast and they came flying out. Mimi asked if she wanted to go again and she said no. It must have been really fast.

Thanks Mimi and Dew Dad for taking us. We had so much fun.

Backyard and Tractors

We are trying hard to create a backyard. Justin has been working so hard. We have cut down lots of trees and Justin has created a huge eight foot wall to make level ground. We are thankful for our friends who have helped us build the wall...it has been quite a job. We are now to the stages of needing dirt and we need lots of it.

Once the dirt comes, Pop Pop moves it into the holes for us.

Elcee likes to watch Pop Pop with the tractor with her Daddy.
But her favorite part would be getting to ride on the tractor...

Abee Baptism

Abee Baptism.... Abee got baptized on August 21st. It was a special time for our family. My mom took my wedding dress and made it into a baptism gone. Elcee wore it when she got baptized and then we have to wait until Abee fit into it for her to wear. We thank the Lord everyday for these two precious children that he has intrusted us with. This was a special day for us to remember the covenant that we made when we had Elcee baptized and now with Abee. We pray daily that the Lord would bring Elcee and Abee to himself at a young age and that they would love the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength, and that they would love their neighbor as themselves.

Abee's dress. My mom made from my wedding dress, Elcee wore it too. I hope one day that their girls will wear it.

Abee is too sweet!

Under the dress, my mom makes them a special slip that has when there were born and when they were baptized monogrammed on the slip. This is Abee in her slip. We have a picture just like this with Elcee in her slip. We decided to see if Elcee's slip still fit her from when she was 6 months old. It did. So Elcee is in her slip from getting baptized just like Abee.
Abee in her after baptism outfit!
My mom made Elcee a beautiful dress for Abee's baptism as well. I do not even want to know how long it took her to make it. It is so beautiful and so exquisite looking. It is definitely one of my favorite dresses that my mom has made so far.

A picture of Grandma and Pop Pop with Abee. I do not know why I do not have any pictures of my sister and husband, brother, or my parents. I suppose I need to do a better job of taking pictures.

Elcee Pearl is too funny!

We wish that we had a video camera that just followed us around all day because Elcee says the funniest things. We want to remember these days so much and the sweet spirit that Elcee has. All the time Justin and I just start laughing because Elcee says the funniest thing and normally it is too funny because she is justs talking like an adult.

Every night, we put Elcee to bed and she asks us to lay with her for a few minutes. We do and she tells us the funniest thing... lately she has been telling us that she " will hold us because she has two shoulders one for each of ya'll" It is funny that she already knows how to use her southern slang.

Every night, after we say our prayers, we each say something that we are thankful for... all week Elcee has said the same thing that she is thankful for "you and Daddy" over and over again as she is rapidly pointing at each of us.

Last week, we had a special evening service at church and we let Elcee sit with us. We explained to her that she had to be quiet if she wanted to stay and she said that she understood. When we were praying she was trying so hard to be obedient and close her eyes. Her best solution to closing her eyes was to place both of her hands over her eyes so that they would remain closed. I being the good example that I am, checked on her to see how she was and she still had her hands over her eyes with spaces between her fingers so that she could look around! If only I had a picture. She did really well sitting there, so quietly. During a song she tapped me and said "Mommy, can I sing too?" I said, "of course, Elcee" and she sweetly responds, but I do not know these words how can I sing?

When we ask , Elcee who her best friend is, she tells us Abee. We can only pray that the two would be great friends. We are so thankful for the joy Elcee brings to our lives
